Metropolis has been my home since I can remember; I have always tried to be a productive citizen; to help Metropolis grow into something bigger and something better. It was recently that I received a call from the Daily Planet telling me that I had a job interview; this was huge news to me because I had wanted to work for them for a long time and now I could be getting that opportunity to do so.
My taxi had just arrived at the building, the massive world on top of the building and the huge lettering really bringing this to fruition as being real. I’ll being honest, I was nervous; I really wanted this job and knew that there were several others looking to get it as well so I just needed to be myself and take that bull by the horns. I dressed nice, in a gray colored suit to really reflect the fact that I wanted this job and in a pretty bad way and as I walked up to the large set of doors; I took in a much needed deep breath to try calming myself before entering and approaching the receptionist desk to get things going.
Receptionist, “May I help you?”
Clark smiles, “You may! I have a 2:30 appointment to meet with Mr. White.”
Receptionist, “Mr. Kent?”
Clarke nods, “That is correct!”
Smiling, I stood there feeling pretty confident, at ease with myself.
Receptionist, “Please have a seat! He’ll be with you momentarily.”
Before even taking a seat, I heard a very stern, powerful voice yelling out to a younger, red headed man following him.
Mr. White, “GREAT CAESAR’S GHOST! What in the world happened? YOU! You Kent?”
Clark surprised, “Y… Yes sir!”
Out of instinct, I quickly extended my hand out to shake his hand – even out of all this craziness, he shook it and then spoke to me.
Mr. White, “Follow me! We’ll get this thing going…”
There was no denying that the man was stern, he was a powerhouse metaphorically speaking and I really hoped that this interview went well.
