Its been six months since the closing of The Dark Knight Rises . Gotham is still recovering from the months of chaos and tyranny under the iron fist of Bane. Thugs are still on the loose after being freed from Blackgate prison and the only comfort the people of Gotham have is the fact that the worst of the scum are still contained in Arkham Asylum.

Bruce Wayne spent four months along with Selina Kyle treating the less fortunate in Bosnia before returning to Gotham to pursue a modest life as a doctor of Gotham General.He has moved into the villa of Alfred Pennyworth, just on the outskirts of Gotham and the city is in slight shock to hear that in fact Bruce has not died like they had thought.

John Robin Blake in the meanwhile has spent his time touching up the secondary bat-cave and under Bruce's guidance slowly started to craft a new reputation as the masked Vigilantly: Nightwing. Little does the group that there are dark things brewing in Gotham, and soon the city will be plunged
into darkness once more.

The Joker, after spending almost nine years in Arkham Asylum has seemed to kindle some kind of sick relationship with one of the staff in the facility, biding his time until he escape his shackles once more.

Bane, unbeknown to Selina or Bruce has survived the blast of the batpod's guns and has been serving time in the Asylum under heavy guard until recently. About a month ago he seemingly just vanished, no trace of his whereabouts to be found, the only clue being that his thugs had been sprung from black-gate prison.

Six months ago, Talia al Ghul had been rushed via ambulance to the hospital after taking what they believed was a mortal wound from a drive-shaft in her truck while transporting the atom bomb across Gotham. The Ambulance was last seen skidding off one of Gotham's bridges into the fridged ice below.

Pronounced dead, her body now actually lies in cryogenic stasis in a caravan lead by Bane and his men on a quest to resurrect his love and their fallen leader.

Bruce was not the only one to rise from the Depths.
