PERSONAL INFORMATION
- Real Name: Alexander Joseph Luthor
- Alias: Lex Luthor
- P.O.B: Metropolis
- Occupation: Founder and Figurehead of Lex Corp.
- Marital Status: Single
- Face Claim: Dana White
SOCIAL INFORMATION:
- Current Social Status: The Donald Trump/Bill Gates/Steve Jobs All In One of Metropolis (No official Hero/Villain status established yet)
-- How Much Experience as Answered Above: N/A
- Current/Known Associates: Various business and political leaders. Lots of friends in high places.
- Current/Known Adversaries: When you build a company to prominence like Lex has done with LexCorp, you’re going to make enemies along the way. There are environmentalist who feel some of his facilities aren’t doing the environment any favors, there’s religious fanatics who think it’s wrong to “play god” and dabble in the advanced sciences of things like time travel and cloning and what have you that LexCorp is rumored to be involved in… And of course there are politicians who play the Class Warfare game and as a result, Lex (being as wealthy as he is) is always a target for that sort of rhetoric as well. But that’s all par for the course.
ABILITIES:
Lex Luthor has the physical capabilities and limitations of a normal adult with no metahuman abilities. However, he possesses a genius level of intelligence. For virtually his entire publication history, he has been depicted as the most intelligent human in the DC Universe, and as one of the most intelligent beings of any planet or species. He has mastered seemingly every known form of science, including space travel, extra-dimensional travel, biochemistry, robotics, computers, synthetic polymers, communications, mutations, transportation, holography, energy generation, spectral analysis, and more (including time travel in many Pre-Crisis stories). With the exception of the extraterrestrial entity known as Brainiac, he does not view any other being as an intellectual peer.
Additionally his cloute around Metropolis, his nearly unlimited resources, vast proficiency with technology and ability to “talk” all serve him well.
STRENGTHS/WEAKNESSES:
As mentioned above, Lex Luthor is human so from a physical perspective he has the same weaknesses that come with humanity. Mentally, his biggest weakness (and one might contest his biggest strength to some degree) is his ego and his pride. Lex Luthor has an overwhelming desire to be (and to be perceived as) the absolute best at anything he does. He’s narcissistic, paranoid and borderline delusional. If you pick up a dollar bill in his mind you didn’t pick it up so you could have it but, purely because you didn’t want Lex to have it. In that sense, the world revolves around Lex. Of course you don’t get as far in the world as he has if you let everyone around you know that’s your frame of thought. So he does make an effort to keep his ego somewhat in check for PR reasons. But in his head it’s a different story.
BACKGROUND:
Lex Luthor’s backstory has been debated and discussed for some time. However, I’m here now to give you the official, documented history of Metropolis’ star entrepreneur and scientific genius, Lex Luthor.
32 Years ago as of last March, Alexander Joseph Luthor was born at Metropolis Municipal Hospital. Born the son of a humble factory worker named Lionel Luthor and his young wife Lillian, Alexander wasn’t what you’d call, ‘Privileged’. Growing up in the Suicide Slums section of the New Troy burrough of Metropolis, Lex learned at an early age that you have to fight for every inch in this life. Despite a chaotic home life with an alcoholic father and a mother who was sick much of the time, and despite fiscal difficulties and limited educational opportunities, Lex still managed to stand out academically. By fourth grade Lex was already taking high school credit courses and being labeled as “gifted” by everyone who had the opportunity to study him. It was around this same time that his mother finally lost her battle with her illness and passed away.
Life didn’t get any easier. Lex’s father was abusive and usually drunk. Eventually, as a teenager Lex took out a life insurance policy on his father and without his father’s knowledge and then sabotaged the breaks in his father’s car leading to Lionel’s untimely demise.
At the tender age of fifteen years old, Lex Luther graduated high school and got a full scholarship to MIT. After graduating from MIT, Lex used the remaining money from the insurance policy he’d had on his father to purchase lab space and begin what at this time we can only refer to as “Various Experiments”. While we’re not at liberty to discuss the nature of most of these experiments at this time, it was the creation of the Luthoron Flight Control System... An airplane mechinicim that’s designed to activate when a Plane begins to spiral out of control and effectively take over the functions of the Plane (even if the engines are shot or fuel is depleted) and allow it to coast to the ground and a significantly reduced speed from the average downward spiral.
With this successful venture into Aerospace Enginering, LexCorp was born. Lex Luthor became wildly wealthy with the creation of the Luthoron Flight Control System and this allowed not just for the creation of LexCorp but additionally, it provided the fiscal stability for Luthor and his new found staff of scientists and engineers to begin studying vast areas beyond Aerospace Engineering. Today Lexcorp has become one of the worlds largest, most diversified multinational corporations. With their hand in everything from military weaponry to bio fuels to agriculture and environmental studies, there’s really not much that Lexcorp isn’t involved in.
Now with Lexcorp celebrating ten years of success (Put over the top with a recent Lexcorp stock boom), Lex Luthor could be considered in many ways the face of Metropolis. The Daily Planet often seems to come up with these far reaching stories about Luthor, suggesting he’s somehow corrupt or operating in a way that’s unethical. But, perhaps that’s why the Daily Planet is struggling like it is while news outlets like Newstime are running the game and printing pieces on what a humanitarian and philanthropies Lex Luther is.
