I. Characters
This site is created and ran through the eyes of the "Nolanverse." What that means is that yes, while this is a DC Comic based RP site, we're trying to keep it as realistic as possible. Nonetheless; while we're open to accepting/having ANY DC Character.. The thing is, you as the handler, must be able to 'Nolanize' them. But 'Nolanize' that means we want you to give us a REALISTIC take of the character.. Like how in 'The Dark Knight Rises,' Bane didn't have his 'venom,' because he was human with a few modifications.
II. Characters Established in the Nolanverse
As stated above, this site is essentially Nolanverse, DC wide.. Meaning, characters like The Joker, Scarecrow, Ra's and Talia, Harvey Dent.. Jim Gordon, even Superman- they're staying the way they are, 'physically.' Meaning, if you want to play the characters, that's fine- but the faces will remain the same. We're open for interpertation however, mixing aspects of the character's personality from cartoons/comics/movies/books is definitely acceptable.
III. Characters NOT Established in the Nolanverse
You're ready for the fun? Were you pretty mad that The Riddler or Black Mask didn't make the cut in any of Nolan's movies? Well.. Don't worry about it- this is what the site was created for. We WANT you to use an un-established character in the Nolanverse- we WANT you to essentially 'cast' the character, pick out an actual actor/actress and write the character through your perspective.. Just as long as you 'Nolanize' them.
IV. Original Characters [Non-Canon]
For the time being, we're only looking to fill the role of REAL DC characters so no.. Original characters are not accepted as off yet. In order to completely fill the goal in created a wide array of 'reinvented and Nolanized' characters, we need to first take the ones that are established. There is however, exceptions to the rule- so please, PM a staff member [located to the left of the forums in the second table] and ask them before going through with anything.
UPDATE #1: As of now, the only original characters that are accepted are NPC's that works directly with your character. So things like an assistant, or a bodyguard. Your main character must still be an original DC canon character.
UPDATE #2: We are accepting original character as citizens. If you're not sure about a possible creation, join the site please and PM staff.
V. "Power-Modding"
The Admin as well as staff of this site came from a totally different creative writing experience and thus- aren't too big with the whole 'barring of modding.' In our humble opinion, due to the characters being used within this site- getting the character correct in posts shouldn't be too hard. We consider ourselves an advance writing clique; thus, being able to emulate another's style of writing/perception of the character is actually expected of other writers. If you're not too sure you're getting the character down, make an effort to get with the respective handler and see what needs to be rectified. So no, here at "JUSTICE ISN'T FREE" we don't believe in "Power Modding/God Modding." If you need to use a character in reply/intro to get the plot moving, do so.
VI. Joining
Before you post an RP [unless told otherwise] first go through these steps..
• Wait until a mod/staff PMs you, notifying you that your app has been accepted. This won't take long as we're around- either through mobile [on our phone] or on the site itself.
• Once you get that PM.. START WRITING![/ul]
VII. Account Information
To have this as ordered as humanly possible, we kindly ask that your account- your display name? Have it be of the character you're wanting to RP as. To do this.. First, register an account- once you activate it [through eMail] sign-in, then click on "Profile" and look for the "Modify" option. From there, change your display name to the character name.. Whether you want to put 'real name-alias' [IE; Bruce Wayne = Batman] is strictly up to you.
VIII. Written Reminders
When writing for the character, please remember to keep it logical and error free. What we're asking is you play the character the way they are. Batman shooting people with a rifle- or The Riddler deciding that he no longer will use his brain to frustrate Batman. As open as we are to improvising and adding a unique touch on the characters, they still have a personality- follow it.
IX. Posting/Losing Characters
We all go through stuff in life- things happen. If something comes up, leave us a note on the boards so we know that we can keep your character on the side for you. If you're gone for 14 days [2 weeks] with no notice put up, your character will be free'd up for use for someone else. If you reserved a character, you've got a week to get something up for a bio or not the reserve falls out of favor. We want to allow everyone to feel welcomed- part of that is having characters open for them to use- so if you're gonna go off or if you need to step away from the 'net, let us know.. or the character is lost.
