Cont'd from: Contracts
Roy Harper... codename Arsenal from his time in battle over seas had just returned home to Star City not even but a few days ago and resting in his new apartment, he awoke and turned on the television for the news at noon, and it was a story that caught the interest of the young Arsenal. He served his country as an expert marksman using nothing but his bow and arrow. But with the crime around the world rising recently, and all the strange happenings... Roy had that thought in the back of his mind - what if he was able to take his skills... his skills of being an expert archer. His keen sense of awareness of everything around him and the ability to keep focus with strong self-determination and his athletic ability and with a guise, maybe do something more with it. He served his country, maybe he could do more for his own city but then the news struck a nerve with him...
"Authorities are on scene and I'm standing here with local Nick Cicero who discovered the body of a young man in the alley way just behind us earlier this morning."
"I wasn't sure what to think of it. I.. I mean I've never actually been around a dead body but I was taking a shortcut to work and I found the body. I called the police immediately but this seemed like something you'd see right out of a comic book..."
"What makes you relate the incident to a comic book?"
"The triangle shaped wound on his back where his shirt was torn. I mean it looked to me like the poor guy got mugged at some point after he passed but the triangle just looked like it'd come from an arrow or something. An Archer Assassin, man. Right out of a comic book! Like that stuff out in Metropolis, too!"
"Well thank you Nick for that.. insightful information. Back to you at the station, Linda."
Roy shut off the TV at that point and he leaned back into his sofa and had to just think about it...
"An archer Assassin? Certainly can't be from around here... I think it's time to start doing some investigating of my own. Nobody is going to give a bad name to the arrow if I can help it..."
Roy reached over next to his sofa and grabbed his quiver and stood up putting it over his head and across his shoulder. Right through the fire escape Roy went, climbing to the top of his apartment complex. The wind blew with a slight breeze and he stood atop of the building looking out across the city. It was a familiar type of scene from when he was a child he would do the same thing. This archer... who could he be? Where could he be? Why would he do that to an innocent? There wasn't much that could be done right now besides think, and keep an eye out. If there was one attack, there would certainly be more and nobody is ever good enough to not leave a trace behind. Nobody. But then it struck... the Mayor of Metropolis. Roy heard about there being an attack that Luthor put himself in harms way to protect any more danger.. that must be what the citizen was talking about. Maybe Luthor was worth talking to about all of this. And at the same time he was just one power figure. There was Bromfield, Queen and Wayne too. Although the Mayor was the head attack of the story you can never be too safe; start with Luthor.
