Recently I've been looking for ways to keep things different from other sites- and while pretty hard due to how diverse ProBoard's community is, I think I have something we can offer that's not really too emulated else-where.

Respect | Fear
Well, I want this to be our 'classification' system. Basically, I want this to be the way we tell who's who on the site in terms of how they're doing. So for example the higher the number [or lower a negative number is] is how the character is looked at through the eyes of society.
When you click the "Respect" option, you're saying that the person is a good hero- one that deserves all the praise he/she gets without a shadow of a doubt. The higher the Respect number is, the more higher of a regard the character will be held in by the site in terms of how 'popular' he/she is.
On the flip-side.. The lower a negative number is [i.e. -13] is way for us to tell how well the villain is going over within the site. To give your opinion on this, click the "Fear" option and that'll move the character's stature up.
If you're not sure, it's not mandatory you click on either- it's not a big deal short-term. I do want members to partake is this so the heroes/villains can also see how their work is being taken as far as character development. Ideally, Batman and Green Arrow as the site ages should be held in a high regard as their posts should be 'respected,' but characters like Cobblepot- or Joker they should be feared more so.
This'll cause quite a controversy though- sooner or later an anti-hero will join and the RPs will be taken differently. Some will see his actions as being heroic and 'Respect' his posts- but others will see it as a villain and 'Fear' it, which is why the system although a bit black and white, still can prove to be dynamic in driving the site.
I'm also developing rewards for once characters hit a specific mile-stone of points. I'm thinking the higher the points, the more 'pull' he/she has in their respective city/area.
Also, I think ProBoards only let you vote once every so often- I think there's a time limit so use your choices wisely.. You aren't urged to vote quickly, but definitely think about your decision as it'll impact the character and how he/she is perceived.
Thanks!
